I was wrong below on my stats on Murray in home games. I said he had lost 16-3 as a start at home. He is 17-2. He has only lost 2 games at home as a starter; one to South Carolina in 2011, and one to Arkansas in 2010. I accidentally counted the away game at South Carolina in 2010 as a home game and a loss.
First time tuning in since the game. But I've been hearing the Richt, BoBo, and Murray bashing all over the country. I see it like this, we scored 35 points and that should always be enough if you want to compete for a National Championship. Defense has got to get better and get better fast. Murray is put under a microscope because so much is put on him to win the game for us man, it's a team sport. Our D gave up 38 points which isn't championship quality, hopefully this week we can get it right!
correct me if I am wrong but didnt our special teams and offense give some of those points as well...not just the D....although we have a young D...I believe we can run the table on USC and win this game...
@Red Dawn@GaSoldier I am pretty sure if you asked swinney at the start of that drive if he felt like the game was out of hand he would laughed in your face. Clemson was still blitzing and playing tight coverage, absolutely did not want uga to have any chance to win the game
What you may remember is that South Carolina scored in the 2nd quarter off a fake punt. Melvin Ingram took a fake punt in for a TD on a 68 yard scamper. USCe also had 2 defensive TDs. Murray threw a pick six in the 3rd quarter to Antonio Allen, but the back breaker was the Clowney sack on Murray with 3 and change left in the game with the score 38 to 35 which resulted in a fumble and Ingram picked it up and ran it in for a TD.
Our defense actually held South Carolina to 24 points in the game.
@dawgsrulegumpsdrool@tmdawg12@Bulldawg Bob2 exactly. we knew what this game was going to be. a close one. the team that makes more mistakes loses the game. unfortunately that was us. despite the many mistakes we were still in the game and had a chance to win.
@tmdawg12@Bulldawg Bob2 For everyone saying the offensive line played terrible and yes I was one of them before watching it again, and yes they had their bad moments, imagine how good they will be if they iron out the kinks. will they be perfect this weekend, I think we will be better, and keep improving theres no telling how good they can be.if swann tackles Sammy the way I teach the 7 year olds I coach maybe that drive doesn't end with a touchdown. all i can say is we had a shot to win a huge game on the road and what else can we actually REALLY ask them for. Im proud of the effort and the performance. As upset as we as fans are think what must have been going through their minds on that bus ride and all week in practice. Bring on clowney baby
@Bulldawg Bob2@dawgsrulegumpsdrool@Oceandawg I wasn't really going at it like we should lower ourselves to everyone else, more that someone should step in and raise everyone else to us. or maybe even somewhere in the middle. BUt with les miles track record the guys from vandy may have missed a half and had to run a little extra if they were at lsu. I personally love that mark richt holds our guys accountable.
@Oceandawg I do think its time either we rethink our discipline strategy even though I fully believe in it. Or the whole conferences system needs to be thrown out and rewritten in a uniform manner. lsu's quarterback was kicked out of Georgia for a sexual crime and the running back would have been kicked out, also for a sexual crime. both welcome with open arms at lsu
Yeah I thought Marlo was one of the better players on the D that night. I saw a lot of missed tackles though, that Swann missed tackle on Watkins when he didn't use his arms at all pissed me off. Of course he went on for a 70 yard TD. Miss tackles is what gets to me big time
@GaSoldier as much as we believe in our young talent, they are after all young, most getting their first full game of collegiate action. and arguably against one of the best offenses in the country, against a very big mobil qb and the best wr. and not to mention a pretty hostile stadium, at night, most anticipated season opener (screw boise this was epicly bigger) in years against a top ten team. I think they grew up quite a bit and played pretty well considering the circumstances. This Saturday however, yes, they have to play out of their minds no excuses haha. I cant wait. I love a Georgia team with our backs against the wall, it brings out the best in us every time
