Looked to me like Clemson kept running the same defensive and offensive plays over and over because it worked. If we don't make in-game adjustments, then SCar will have their way with us also. I'm sure Spurrier took notes and is thinking "HMMM, Georgia has a ton of freshmen on defense and having problems tackling, offensive line is weak, Murray is to short to throw over the defensive line, #1 reciever is out for the season. Recipe for an 0-2 start.
why I don't like Bobo. He doesn't make mid-game adjustments to what is working. We continued to run the slow developing runs out of the pistol and got stuffed every time. But when we ran to the corners (toss sweep) it was very effective... but we only did it 2 or 3 times.
OL was having a bad night, the pocket kept collapsing, but he continued to call pass plays from the pocket. When we did roll AM out of the pocket it was very effective (TD to Wooten... and 50 yard gain to Hicks)... but we only did that twice.
I just don't understand how myself and many of you while we watch a game can see this and want our team to keep running the sweep, or keep rolling AM out of the pocket, then Bobo never does it... he continues with the stuff that is not effective.
I'm no negative hater. I love our team, our program and I love Richt and appreciate Bobo and the yards and TD's we scored last year and in the Clemson game... but I don't get his lack of mid-game adjustments?
Amazing how few players made all the plays on defense. Drew, Herrera, Floyd, Wilson & Jenkins were playmakers.Bailey and Taylor made a play but hardly played.Thornton and Smith were shoved all over the field yet pllayed most of the game.
@LawDawg2011 that one did blow my mind as well. Have to figure that play was called while they were still in the locker room. I say the clemmers rigged the clock. only logical explanation that comes to mind.
@redandblack Traveling all day and starting first thing this morning on Sirius College Bill King essentially said Murray will never get the dawgs over the top - lacks confidence in big games like last weekend's Clemson debacle. Later in the day the it continued on the Sirius college station as one after another commentator basically said Murray was a good QB, but .... All of these talking heads said they thought we had a really good team, but between QB play in big games and play calling we weren't getting the job done. Was brutal listening to it all day.
@ARK Dawg@redandblack hmmmmmm lets see who else we could say that about the espn just glows over...... Bradford? any qb from fsu in the last few years? the list can go on and on. only one waurterback a season wins a championship. and only a handful can say they have a REAL chance of winning one. while yes we are one, but to say that a quarterback only has a great career if he wins the national championship drives me crazy. Same goes for super bowls. If Aaron Murray wins an SEC championship and we get left out of the national championship espn will act as if his career never happened
@CCM=Proud Dawg@DawgOnLanier Kid has a freaking lazer but has no idea where its going. Fast but gets happy feet. Vick-like as a comparison but not actually vick at v-tech good. I don't know if that made sense
@tmdawg12@dawgsrulegumpsdrool@LawDawg2011 I know. My buddies and i were yelling some obscenities at the tv hoping he would hear us from Columbus, Ga. Apparently the microphone to his helmet doesn't connect to our living room
@Jasontuga13 I don't know about the McCarron comparison. He is asked to do a lot less than murray. but that's neither here nor there. i just think credit should be given where its due. To trash him like they do is a bit over the top, though somewhat warranted, Mccaron also played behind one of the best o lines to grace college football in quite some time. i think you saw what mccaron is with an average one against v-tech
His stats against ranked teams is why the media trashes him. Honestly I agree with them. His decision making can be terrible. Look at aj mccaron. He threw for 33 td and only 3 int. he makes good decisions. Their run game was similar to ours last year.
