Dawgs Make Impact on 5-Star Trio
Raekwon McMillan was in Athens all weekend for his official visit to the University of Georgia. The 5-star inside linebacker from Hinesville, GA came into the visit with the Bulldogs not in his top 3 schools. Ohio State has been the clear favorite for a while with Clemson and Alabama his next two. The Georgia Bulldogs had to hit a home-run on his official visit to get in that top 3, and from a source close to the McMillan family “The Bulldogs hit a Grand-Slam”. At this point we still have not been able to catch up with McMillan, but from people close to him the Bulldogs put themselves in great position. Where McMillan has the Bulldogs at in his top 3 is still to be determined…….but a lot of Georgia fans believed coming into this past weekend that the Bulldogs had no shot at landing one of the states best prospects……and that changed after his visit.
David Sharpe is the most intriguing one of them all. This is the 2nd unofficial visit he has taken to the University of Georgia and the 3rd time he has seen them this season. Just under a month ago, Sharpe was considered a lock to the University of Florida…….boy how things have changed sense. His first unofficial visit came on the weekend Georgia played South Carolina and the stadium was rocking when the Dawgs pulled out the win over the Gamecocks. Could of his 2nd unofficial visit been better than the first? “The was an great game man, great visit this weekend. Best thing about the visit was being in the locker-room after the game celebrating with the team.” Sharpe ended up staying in Athens on Saturday night and spending a lot of time with the Georgia Bulldog players and a few of the commits that were visiting. Sharpe comes from a family of Gators and picking the Bulldogs would be hard, but Georgia has made that a little easier to do with the relationship Mark Richt has built with David Sharpe’s father. When asked what coach his father had the best relationship with, his answer was “Mark Richt, no doubt.” How close is Sharpe to making a decision? “Real close”
Lorenzo Carter was back in Athens this past weekend after taking an official visit to Gainesville, Florida last weekend. The Bulldogs had been slowly gaining all the momentum for Carter until last weekend when he had a great visit to Florida. Georgia needed another big weekend to regain that momentum for Carter and that is exactly what they did. At this point right now, it is a Georgia/Florida battle and from what I am told…..the two teams are dead even and Florida has already had their official visit with the 5-star outside linebacker from Norcross, GA. Alabama is on the outside looking in right now but will get an official visit. Carter will likely take his official visit to Athens for the GALA in December. One thing that is working on Georgia’s favor right now for Carter is that he is a BIG family man and although his parents want what is best for him, his parents want him to be a Dawg!!
Offer and Potential Commit Coming for 2015 RB?
Kentavious Thomas, 5-11 200 RB from Baldwin High, visited Athens Saturday night and was totally blown away by his visit. Thomas is a 4-star prospect and one of the top RB’s in the state of Georgia for the 2015 class. He is a big kid with 4.4 speed with excellent vision and balance. When asked how good his visit actually was, Thomas responded with “Yes sir it was great I really like UGA. I will commit to Georgia when they offer me because no where else better. GO DOGS” Georgia is looking for 1-2 running backs in the class of 2015, and two in-state prospects at the position have already been offered……..so does Thomas think an offer is coming soon from the Bulldogs? “I think it is going to come around my 6th game this year.”
Thomas talked about the stadium and crowd noise being the craziest thing he had ever seen. He had never been in an atmosphere that crazy and he talked a little bit about the crowd noise from the recruiting section; “The noise was so loud that I couldn’t hear myself think!!”
Dawgs Making BIG push for Alabama 2015 OT
Tyler Carr was back in Athens for his 2nd visit this fall this past Saturday. Throughout the early part of his process, it has been rumored to be an Alabama/Auburn battle for the offensive tackle from Gadsden, AL but that certainly is not the case following his recent visit to Georgia. “Georgia put themselves in great position for me, without question! Every time I am in Athens I am constantly blown away!” Carr already had an offer from Georgia and Auburn and received an offer from Alabama on Friday before making his visit to Athens.
The 4-star prospect says he doesn’t currently have a leader, but those 3 are the ones that are sticking out right now and Georgia has definitely made the biggest impact on him up to this point. What was his thoughts on the game and atmosphere? “That game was absolutely crazy! I loved it!”
Quotes from UGA Commits and Targets:
Dyshon Sims: “I loved my visit. The atmosphere in the stadium was rocking and I can’t wait until I get up there between the hedges. Sadly I didn’t get a chance to spend time with David Sharpe while I was there but I’ve heard a lot about him.”
Jake Edwards: “That visit was great! The environment was awesome! That was the best college football game that I have ever been to!”
Isaiah Wynn (OV): “Loved the visit. I enjoyed everything about it. The crowd noise and environment is not describable. My brother and I are still in Athens and will head back to Florida on Monday afternoon”.
Kendall Baker (OV): “It was the best game I have ever been to!!! I just cant wait until I am out there and that crowd is going wild for us!!! Shaun McGee was my host and honestly we pretty much hung out with the whole team after the game. All the targets there def loved it!!!”
Dontavius Russell: “I loved every bit if my visit, it was outstanding!!”
Detric Dukes: “Love Athens, can’t wait to be a Dawg!! Me and Shaw stayed in Athens Saturday night and worked on McMillan. It’s always a good time in Athens. We just hung out with the players after the game and yeah Sharpe had a good time last night. That game and the crowd was great, that’s all everyone was talking bout last night. It was crazy!!! I think Carter is coming around. McMillan who knows, but I let him know we both can eat here.”
Christian Owens: “The visit was great !! It was a well hard fought game between two top teams. Georgia played harder and longer. The fans stood strong behind the Dawgs and i loved it!”
Robert Muschamp: “It was awesome. The environment was crazy. I’m glad I went down. No I probably haven’t heard a stadium louder that Saturday Night. That last 4th down was probably the loudest I’ve ever heard!”

BRB, great job on putting this together. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Not enough like buttons for this.
Wonder if Robert is weighing the fact that his Uncle may not be the head ball coach at UF by the time he gets there.
I see where Kendarius Webster has moved up his announcement date after the UGA game. Honestly if we do take another CB I want Green over Webster. I've wanted Green earlier in the year and was disappointed when he picked USCe but it seems he has smarten up and has realized he made a bad choice as did Arden Key.
Thanks for the great read BRB!!!
love that smell of VICTORY
Thanks for all your hard work, BRB. This is the first Dawg site I check every morning and throughout the day.
Great work/info! Yeah Mcmillian it he doesn't put up front now than he just doesn't want to play here . Carter I think will be a Dawg!
Man I love this class we have already. i really think there is going to be some studs in this class I just hope we don't have a huge let down like we did last year and to a certain extent the year before (Not getting Patterson and A.Young) because I would be devastated. I think there's some guys in this class who may not be getting the publicity as some of the others like Malcolm Parrish who I feel is going to be an extraordinary player for us. I absolutely love Parrish and think he's going to be a baller.
Does Woerner from Rabun have an offer yet? I would love to see him and R. Muschamp on the same team. What kind of rating will Muschamp get?
im still meh on McMillan actually coming around, and carter that kind of worried me bc I thought we had the lead lol
@C_saw = RTDB Thanks
@OconeeDawg706 Do not think Webster is higher on the board than Green, that is for sure
@OconeeDawg706 The thing about this class, we have positioned ourselves so nicely that if someone goes a different direction on NSD, it will not hurt as bad. If we ended the class right now, we have a dang good class. Now we have 10 prospects fighting it out for 5 spots!!!! Gotta love it!!!
@Fatrascaldawg Shaw was recruiting for us this weekend
@RuggerDoogie From everything surrounding Carter, it sounds like the Dawgs are the team to beat
@bigredballer It is crazy. Plus we've filled every position outside K,P, and C but were fine at those positions. It's crazy but these guys aren't just depth guys neither their big time recruits who just about every school wanted. We've always recruited well but we've recruited exceptionally well the past 2-3 years.
@Fatrascaldawg Neck is something to worry about, but it is not career ending by any means
@bigredballer I think so too but I just don't understand his love affair with Florida. They are a team that is not trending up wards and their coach may not be there much longer,IMO. I really think he's a DAWG but I just don't get his attraction to UF. His style of play is best suited for CTG's defense and he would flourish being able to rush the passer standing up with his athleticism.
Man I want McMillan and Sharpe bad. I tell you what, with Sharpe saying he is very close to committing that can't help but get UGA excited as it seems to bode very well for us. If we somehow land McMillan and Sharpe then this class would be epic because that would seal the deal with Carter,IMO. I know Rashaan Evans loves UGA but I'm just not sold on him coming here honestly and we need more LB depth even if we do land Carter we need another stud.
Shaw is obviously ours there's no doubt but he will need a RS and needs to get healthy and in shape but with our depth next year and the guys we have coming in that shouldn't be a problem at all but if he works hard he could be a really good player for us down the line though I don't expect much from him for atleast 2 years.
K.Thomas looks like a decent back but honestly with Chubb and Michel coming in and us going hard for Taj griffin we really don't need 2 big time TB's we just need some depth though it would be great to land a guy like jordan Scarlett and Griffin.
Well said Fam.
@Fatrascaldawg Yeah it sure is
@mcgill Well Jordan Scarlett is that guy for sure. Griffin is very explosive but he is also a very small guy and small guys don't tend to do very well in the SEC. Still, he's a guy I really want and adds a dimension to an offense that every team could use. He probably won't ever be a work horse but find a way to get him the ball 10+ times a game and he will make something happen. I do worry about ball control with a guy that size playing against these NFL size/talent defensive players in the SEC.
