All right folks. I actually stayed past the 1,000 mark this time, lol.

I'm going to call it a night. I've got to take the misses to the doctor tomorrow and for some blood work in the lab.

Good news, great info, and darn good chatter and discussion as usual. Everybody be safe if indeed we do get some icy weather.

BRB, is the hint about good news at 3:30 on NSD still in play?

Is it me, or do Wilson, Floyd, Kimbrough, Rankin, and Bellamy as well as Reggie Carter fit the type of LB as far as size goes and speed that Pruitt likes to play compared to Herrera and Jenkins and Dawson and DeLoach at their current weight?

I'd like to see Jenkins lose about 15 lbs or so, and see if he was quicker playing at around 240 than 257. Jenkins has the height and length that Pruitt likes to use.

Do you see us going after Torrance Gibson

BRB,

I thought Derrick Kelly had removed the Dawgs from consideration. Is there some small chance for a miracle here?

Ok, let's say lightning strikes and Carter, Green and Williams all pick UGA. How do we fit them?

“My brother congratulated me on committing to Georgia,” Dominick said. “He has always had said good things about Georgia. He’s thinks it a good school with good coaches. He said he just made some mistakes, and it was a bad thing to happen. But he’s worked hard to bounce back, and he’s proud of me.”

I am always glad to read stuff like this.  A reminder that even when players leave under bad terms, down the road, they almost all have positive things about UGA.  Credit to Richt & staff.

2015 should be the year of the lineman in Georgia...4 OL and 8 DL from Georgia are in the Rivals 250 with Trenton Thompkins being the #1 overall prospect..

Just for fun I just pulled up the ESPN 2014 top 300. They have 15 players rated 5*. 16 through 300 are rated 4*. My guess is that many 3* kids can be coached up to a 4* fairly easily...provided they have a good attitude, are moderately intelligent and are flexibly as to the position they play.

Speaking of gump committs, does Bo Scarborough project as a tight end?

Bob,

I hope Pruitt lets the whole defense know that every position is up for grabs. I have a feeling Bellamy is going to benefit greatly from the attack mentality on defense.

@SanDiegoDawg Georgia will make room for Carter for sure, and my guess is that CMR and Pruitt break out crow bars and butter to fit all the guys they can in this class.

I really like what the coach said about Sanders. It is clear the coach thinks he is a good person, in addition to being a great player.

Bulldawg Bob2

@AnthonyByers Aye. Georgia is going to be taking at least 4 d-linemen in the 2015 class IMHO. Be curious to see what affect Rocker has on d-line recruiting.

@tsoh1961 It is all about how much work and how much learning a young man is willing to do. There are a lot of talented athletes that can play football, but there are only so many who want to put in the work to be successful at this level of college football. The trick is finding the kid that has the talent, the mind, and the work ethic.

@biggityben I've always thought he's a versatile runningback, but you're right.  That would be a big runningback.

Bulldawg Bob2
Bulldawg Bob2

@biggityben he is listed at 6 foot 2 and 225 lbs, which is a whee bit small for TE, and that is if he is a full 6 foot 2.

phinizydawg66

DawgyStyle,

It would be nice to add a tackle if possible. If his height and weight are accurate, looks like an ideal candidate.

@SanDiegoDawg The other day, BRB stated that Brandon Burrows is more than likely not going to be back; so, that is one there. Gant may not qualify academically; so, that is another. If that is the case, then there just needs to be one more spot opened up to take 3 guys you are referring too.

SanDiegoDawg
SanDiegoDawg

I agree. Can you take them assimg there will be attrition between now and August?

SanDiegoDawg
SanDiegoDawg

True. I just keep telling myself that his mom will like Richt better than the other guys, and she sounds like a great lady.

Bulldawg Bob2
Bulldawg Bob2

@SanDiegoDawg Not sure what you mean exactly, but I'll try my best to answer your question.

A player on scholarship on the team, once they transfer or quit school or there scholly is not renewed, are no longer counted and that opens up a spot.

With LeMay and Fluker already transferring that bumped up the total Georgia could take in the 2014 class from 15 to 17.

Georgia currently has 17 verbal commitments which includes verbal safety commit Kendall Gant plus Jacob Park already enrolled; so, 18 for 2014 so far.

If Deas and Burrows aren't back, then that frees up 2 scholarships and pushes the number Georgia can take in the 2014 class up to 19.

If Gant doesn't qualify academically, then that bumps us back down to 17 verbals with room to take at lest 2 more quys, if my math is correct.

You guys just solved all the problems. Nice work.

When is the date those guys count? Do we have the summer ?

@DawgyStyle @ManOnFire @biggityben Be curious to see where he plays at in that crowded depth chart at Bama. The Tide will either leave him at RB, or use him as an H-back type.

Of course, watch us all be wrong, and he ends up on defense.

Bulldawg Bob2

@biggityben @Bulldawg Bob2 A north and south guy that bulls people over. He has a frame where he could add 20 lbs. If he can keep his speed up at 240ish lbs, he could be there short yardage and goal line guy.

Doesn't he catch the ball well too?

DawgyStyle
DawgyStyle

@biggityben @Bulldawg Bob2 not really, same size as Gurley, except more ripped. He is a VERY good athlete, not many guys that big can run that fast. Underrated, if anything. Him and Henry are gonna be a nightmare in Tuscaloosa

Bulldawg Bob2
Bulldawg Bob2

@biggityben @Bulldawg Bob2 I think it would have helped if he had stayed in 1 more year. He was drafted in the 4th round. If he had had a good senior season, he might have moved as high as late first or early 2nd round.

Orson is a talented guy though, but I could see he was going to have trouble playing TE in the NFL without putting in a lot of work because of his size.

Bulldawg Bob2
Bulldawg Bob2

@biggityben @Bulldawg Bob2 Yes. Orson Charles was, and 241 to 245 when he left. Good TE, but more of a hybrid type. Not a true TE. Bengals have him at fullback at the moment for that very reason.

In my view, a TE is a guy that is at least 6 foot 4, and around 250.

biggityben
biggityben

@Bulldawg Bob2 Orson was like 6'3" (not quite if I remember correctly) and like 230 or something coming out of high school
