UGA Rugby Family Reunites

IMG_0544

UGA Rugby isn’t just a club team on campus. It’s more than that. It’s a family.

With rich history and treasured memories, the UGA Rugby community reunited this weekend among familiar faces and reestablished bonds. Rugby students, alumni, and fans gathered on Saturday for a game against the University of North Carolina. It was a time for supporters to watch and reminisce on their old rugby days while cheering on the new Dawgs.

After the game, around 100 supporters gathered for a banquet that they hope to make an annual event in the future. Guest speaker and a chiropractor for the Atlanta Falcons, Jimmy Hovey, spoke to the group about the mark rugby left on his life and the importance of relationships in the game of rugby.

UGA Rugby has four more home games throughout February and March. Be on the lookout for game reports and stories throughout the season.

It was a great weekend-I must confess that the cold and the wind got the best of me !   Losing at halftime UGA stormed back in the 2nd half to beat North Carolina 36-5
