Wanna feel great about this class? Go take a look at Georgia Tech's class, they have 2 guys rated higher than our lowest rated commit and I wouldn't trade any of our players for them.

All right gents. I'm going to call it a night. I've got a long day tomorrow. I hope you all sleep well and have a good morning. Tomorrow should be a spectacular day to be a Georgia fan. Go Dawgs!

This is a quick prediction on a possible Nickle package in a 4 down linemen base that could appear this spring. I didn't go 2 deep on all spots.

4 down linemen, NICKEL PACKAGE

DE #1 Ray Drew #2 Sterling Bailey

DT #1 Toby Johnson #2 John Atkins

NT #1 Chris Mayes #2 John Taylor

DE #1 Jordan Jenkins #2 Josh Dawson or James DeLoach

LB Leonard Floyd

LB Paris Bostic

CB Shaq Wiggins

CB Reggie Wilkerson

SLOT CB Damian Swann

STRONG SAFETY Tray Matthews

FREE SAFETY Tramel Terry

Bob great job on the 3-4 predictions. You threw that together fast and I appreciate it. Well boys I helped get us to 1500 so my work here is done. Goodnight all and hoping for a huge day tomorrow.

@SanDiegoDawg @PHATDAWG Here is my guess coming out of spring practice. This could change for fall though, but it is my all too early prediction:

3-4 BASE DEFENSE

DE #1 Ray Drew#2 Josh Dawson

NG #1 Chris Mayes #2 John Taylor

DE #1 Sterling Bailey #2 Toby Johnson

SAM OLB #1 Leonard Floyd #2 Shaun McGee

WILL ILB #1 Ramik Wilson #2 Paris Bostick

MIKE ILB #1 Tim Kimbrough #2 Amarlo Herrera

JACK OLB #1 Jordan Jenkins #2 Davin Bellamy

CB #1 Shaq Wiggins #2 Brendan Langley

CB #1 Reggie Wilkerson #2 Sheldon Dawson

STRONG SAFETY #1 Tray Matthews #2 Corey Moore

FREE SAFETY #1 Tramel Terry #2 Quincey Mauger

Bob, do you want to guess at the starting def. (3-4) or is it simply too early?

PHATDAWG
PHATDAWG

How great could Shawn McGee be in Priutts 4-3 defense as an OLB? I think dominating. What do you guys think?

PHATDAWG
PHATDAWG

We have so much line backer talent on this roster how do we play them all?

SanDiegoDawg
SanDiegoDawg

I agree with you. Our class is excellent, and I think the bottom 5 guys are underrated.

@RantingDawg O'Leary and Gailey at least got some of the top players in the state and always seemed to get at least one or two players a year that we wanted. CPJ hasn't gotten anybody that we wanted.

Night Bob. As always, thanks for the videos, knowledge and stats.

That is a good line-up. I am interested in how Wilkerson does. He looked so good before the injury. I like the Toby Johnson prediction. I hope he realizes his talent.

@PHATDAWG  Good job. You did your duty well sir. Have a great night, and a good morning.

edit: and thanks.

This scenario means Swann is third string ?

PHATDAWG

No Reggie Carter? C'mon Man! Lol

SanDiegoDawg

It sounds so good. How was that defense last year so bad? Blaming CTG and Lakatos is easy, but I am just confused. There is so much talent there.

Bulldawg Bob2

@PHATDAWG  McGee will play. He will be Floyd's backup. Pruitt likes to rotate guys in to keep guys fresh and move them around. Floyd and McGee are prototypical SAM OLB's in a Pruitt defense.

Pruitt will run a 3-4, but he also uses a 4-3 about 25% of the time or so.

Bulldawg Bob2
Bulldawg Bob2

@PHATDAWG  Leonard Floyd looks like a perfect fit in Pruitt's system at the SAM OLB spot like he used Christian Jones at FSU.  I think you see a lot of Bostick at ILB as well as some at OLB and I see Shaun McGee backing up Floyd. I think Pruitt will use Jenkins a lot in the JACK DE/OLB spot. It is possible on.e of the backers steals a starting spot from Herrera this spring. Maybe Kimbrough. I could see Bellamy backing up Jordan Jenkins, and I think the rock back there will be Ramik Wilson. Some of the guys coming in Fall might make some noise too.

Bulldawg Bob2
Bulldawg Bob2

@SanDiegoDawg  Not 3rd string per say, but I think his best spot his the slot CB in nickel and dime packages.

Bulldawg Bob2
Bulldawg Bob2

@PHATDAWG  I know. I know. It is just a prediction, and I think O'Neal and Carter have every chance to win a start or be in the 2 deep spot as well.

SEC and young talent. Hard to overcome. Our Defense is lurking and will lead the SEC. Patients. championships.

Bulldawg Bob2

@SanDiegoDawg  Well, we fans and the college football world will find out if it was the talent level or the coaching with Pruitt on board and a whole new defensive staff.

I expected the defense to struggle with the amount of youth and freshmen, but even at FSU they played 5 sophomores and 1 freshman as starters.

PHATDAWG
PHATDAWG

Glad to hear that Bob. We just have so much talent we haven't gotten to see yet it makes me super excited about the next four years.

PHATDAWG
PHATDAWG

I read he runs a 3-4 for with 4-3 jumbo package about 20% of the time. I think in that package McGee could be great as an OLB.

PHATDAWG
PHATDAWG

Do u see Johnny playing any?

SanDiegoDawg
SanDiegoDawg

Thanks Bob, I sure am glad he is coming to UGA. He is one I would hate to have lost.

PHATDAWG

I could see Chubb's taking someone's chest and driving it in the ground freshman year ala Todd Gurley. Let the big Dawg eat! Lol

Bulldawg Bob2
Bulldawg Bob2

@PHATDAWG  Carter and O'Neal have as good a chance as Kimbrough, Bostick, Herrera, or any of the other LBs. That is definitely one of the battles to watch this spring.

SanDiegoDawg
SanDiegoDawg

So much talent up and down . Look at the #2's. That would be a good starting defense.

PHATDAWG
PHATDAWG

With those numbers probably impossible to keep him.

Bulldawg Bob2
Bulldawg Bob2

@PHATDAWG  Pruitt would play him at 220 lbs, but if he gains 10 to 15 lbs of muscle he would be OK, and then for the NFL he could add another 5 to 10 lbs if needed.

I agree. I hope he stays, but he will be 3 years out of HS. If he posts double digit sacks and 20 to 30 tackles for loss or something like that, it will be hard to keep him from leaving.

PHATDAWG
PHATDAWG

I hope he has learned his lesson and stays out of trouble. I agree with you on the incredible year. All the potential in the world I would hate for hIm to not reach it fully.

@Bulldawg Bob2 @PHATDAWG  I hope JHC has an incredible year - when he is off suspension - then goes pro.  I hope the best for him, but he seems like trouble waiting.

PHATDAWG
PHATDAWG

Floyd should stay another year and put some weight on unless he picks up 20 lbs this year. Light for the NFL don't u think?

Bulldawg Bob2
Bulldawg Bob2

@PHATDAWG  What is scary though is that we could end up losing 4 linebackers at the end of this year. Wilson and Herrera as seniors, and if Floyd and Jenkins have really good seasons, they could declare early for the NFL. Glad we have a plethora of LBs behind them.

Bulldawg Bob2
Bulldawg Bob2

@PHATDAWG  Either them or Auburn. I think they are the two favorites in the west although Ole MIss and Miss State are going to be better than they were this year. I think LSU and A&M are down this next year in the West.

PHATDAWG
PHATDAWG

I want to see Alabama run up the middle against us in the SEC Championship and O'neal shut it down by cleaning house in the middle baby!!!

Bulldawg Bob2
Bulldawg Bob2

@PHATDAWG  Yes. TBH, the linebackers and CBs battles in spring will be very interesting to watch, and even more so when the 2014 class comes onto campus in fall. I wonder where Pruitt would stick O'Neal, but it doesn't matter because he asks his LBs to play both inside and outside technique so he can move them around.

It wouldn't surprise me if O'Neal backs up Wilson or even beats out McGee to backup Floyd.
