[break] [break] “We’re getting down to it now,” Georgia head coach Jack Bauerle said. “Saturday’s meet is important for several reasons. We want to continue to race fast and continue to see improvement, we want to do well against one of our conference opponents, and we’ve got some decisions to make on our SEC lineup and we’ll base a lot of them on our next two meets along with our workouts. … We know this is going to be a real challenge in Knoxville. We always get their best shot and we’re expecting that again this weekend. We have a tremendous amount of respect for their program, so we’re really looking forward to it.”
[break] [break] Bauerle goes into Saturday’s meet seeking another milestone in his illustrious career. Bauerle is 299-33-2 in 36 seasons with the Lady Bulldogs. Boston College’s Tom Groden is the only women’s coach to reach the 300-win plateau. Bauerle has an additional 211 victories with the Bulldogs, giving him a combined 510. That figure ranks first all-time in the SEC, second among active coaches and fourth on the all-time list.
