[break] The No. 3 Georgia equestrian team closes out its home schedule Saturday, February 28, when it hosts No. 5 Texas A&M University at the UGA Equestrian Complex in Bishop, Ga. The meet is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. During the meet, the Bulldogs will honor nine seniors in their final competition at home.
[break] [break] Georgia enters the meet with a 6-4 overall record including a 3-2 record in Southeastern Conference. Texas A&M owns a 7-4 record, with a 2-2 mark in the SEC. The Bulldogs and the Aggies last met in the fall when Georgia dropped an 11-7 decision in College Station, Texas.

“The senior meet is always something that is very special,” said head coach Meghan Boenig. “What an honor to be recognizing these incredible individuals and their accomplishments. We are expecting a tough competition from Texas A&M, as they are coming off of a big SEC win. This meet will make us continue to put that pressure on ourselves as we head towards post season. Our busy schedule this spring has helped us to prepare for not only this meet, but ultimately SEC’s and the national championship.”

The Bulldogs are coming off of a 10-9 road win over Auburn. Highlighting the meet was an MOP-earning performance from Paige Stawicki. Stawicki earned the honors after scoring an event-high 74.5. The Bulldogs jumped to a 3-2 lead in Equitation Over Fences, before handing the Tigers a 4-1 loss in Horsemanship. Auburn took Equitation on the Flat 3-1 and Reining 3-2, but it was not enough to defeat the Bulldogs.
