[su_spacer size=”20″] UGA track & field continued to have success during the second day of the Mt. SAC Relays and first day of the Georgia Tech Invitational on Friday.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Graduate student Jenna Wargo kicked off the Mt. SAC meet for the Bulldog throwers and posted her second consecutive personal best in the javelin.  Wargo jumped two spots to fifth after her sixth and final attempt was measured at 161 feet, 1 inch.  This gives her one of the top 20 throws in the NCAA this year and improves her eighth-best throw in the Georgia record books.
[su_spacer size=”40″] On the track, junior Kisean Smith ran a season-best 800-meter time of 1:50.07 to take sixth.  This is the third-best time in his career and the top time for him since 2013.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Also in action at the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta, junior Jimmy Hicks won the 3000-meter steeplechase after trimming 14 seconds of his time earlier this season with a 9:23.99.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Freshman Bryan Kamau clocked the best 1500 time of his career (3:50.66) to finish eighth.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Junior Brooke Koblitz also ran a season-best time of 4:33.00 to take eighth in the women’s 1500.  In the women’s steeplechase, freshman Allie Castro clocked the fastest time of her career (11:12.90) to take sixth.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Senior Charles Grethen will run in the 800 at the Mt. SAC Relays on Saturday.  Junior Shelby Ashe (women’s hammer), sophomores Alex Poursanidis and Alex Larsson (men’s hammer) and senior Nick Vena and junior Ashinia Miller (men’s shot put) will also throw at the Mt. SAC meet.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Georgia will also continue action at the Georgia Tech Invitational on Saturday.  The women’s high jump and pole vault are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
