[su_spacer size=”40″] Uibo, a native of Polva, Estonia, last earned this honor following the 2013 Bulldog Decathlon in Athens, Ga.  He is the first Bulldog to earn this honor since teammate Garrett Scantling received the accolade following his performance at the 2015 Bulldog Decathlon earlier this season.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Uibo earned his most recent honor by winning his third consecutive SEC decathlon title, making himself one of only three individuals in SEC history to win three.  He topped a 17-year-old meet record with 8,326 points.
[su_spacer size=”40″] This score makes Uibo the No. 4 all-time collegiate performer with the No. 4 all-time collegiate performance.  Uibo’s score is also a world-leading mark and is 96 points more than Scantling’s former school record of 8,232 set earlier this year.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Uibo’s performance included an SEC Championships meet record high jump mark of 7 ft, 1 ¾ in (previous record of 7-1.50 set in 1977) and six victories out of the 10 events, including two personal-best efforts.  Uibo is now qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for his native Estonia.
[su_spacer size=”40″] While Uibo may compete in an open event or two to continue his training at the coming NCAA East Prelims (May 28-30) in Jacksonville, Fla., he will next compete in the decathlon at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore., on June 10-13.
