[su_spacer size=”20″] The Georgia women’s tennis team earned a final Oracle/ITA national ranking of No. 5 for the 2014-15 season after advancing all the way to the semifinals at last week’s NCAA Championships in Waco, Texas.
[su_spacer size=”40″] It is the Bulldogs’ third-straight season with a top-5 finish and the fifteenth top-5 finish in head coach Jeff Wallace’s 30-year tenure with the program. The Bulldogs concluded the 2014-15 season with a final record of 24-7, having made appearances in the finals of both the ITA National Team Indoors and the SEC Tournament. Georgia’s appearance in this year’s NCAA semifinal was its first since 2009.
[su_spacer size=”40″] The final ranking saw Georgia leapfrog SEC rival Florida and perennial powerhouse California to move up two places from its pre-tournament mark of No. 7. Newly-crowned NCAA champion Vanderbilt finished the season ranked No .1 while Southern California, UCLA, and North Carolina rounded out the top-4.
