[su_spacer size=”20″] David Andrews is a graduate of Wesleyan school from Johns Creek, GA and a member of the 2011 recruiting class for the Bulldawgs. He played in 10 games his freshman season at UGA in 2011 and was named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for fall semester.
[su_spacer size=”40″] During his sophomore campaign in 2012, David Andrews earned a start at center for the opening contest between the hedges versus the Buffalo Bulls on September 1st, and he never looked back. No 61 started all 14 games for the Dawgs that season and all 13 games the following season during his junior year. He was also named one of the captains for 4 of those games: Vanderbilt, Florida, Appalachian State and Georgia Tech.
[su_spacer size=”40″] At the start of his 2014 senior season, Andrews was named to Athlon Sports’ Pre-Season All-SEC 2nd Team, Phil Steele’s Pre-season All-SEC 3rd team, and he was also named as one of the 6th finalists for the Rimington Trophy. Known for his leadership on the o-line and on offense, the stalwart center was voted as the team’s permanent captain, and started all 13 games for Georgia. For his performance during the 2014 season, David Andrews was named to the AP All-SEC 2nd Team and Phil-Steele’s Postseason All-SEC 2nd Team.
[su_spacer size=”40″] All told, David Andrews played in 50 games for the Bulldawgs on the offensive line at center, starting 40 of those games, from 2011-2014. Following his collegiate career at UGA, David Andrews signed with the New England Patriots as an NFL undrafted free agent over the spring in May.
