[su_spacer size=”40″] Rogers, a native of Coquitlam, British Columbia, will train in Calgary during the fall months with the goal of earning a spot on the 2015 Canadian World Championship Team. The World Championships will be held Oct. 23-Nov. 1 in Glasgow, Scotland. Rogers also hopes to earn a spot on the Canadian Olympic team for the 2016 games in Rio.
[su_spacer size=”40″] “We are thrilled for Brittany and the opportunity she has to represent her country.” Durante said. “Brittany is adamant about returning to campus in December for her senior season as a Gymdog. She has been in close contact with fellow seniors Brandie Jay and Mary Beth Box over the last several days as the team prepares to start classes on Monday. The staff, team and University of Georgia are behind Brittany 100 percent as she strives for Glasgow this fall and Rio next summer. We are so proud of her drive, discipline and desire to continue to compete at the elite level and as well as finish her collegiate career with her teammates.”
[su_spacer size=”40″] Rogers is a six-time All-American and two-time SEC Champion (bars and beam in 2013). She was the NCAA runner-up on bars as a junior in 2015 and has competed all four events during her UGA career. She also competed in the 2012 Olympics in London.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Said Rogers: “I am extremely excited and very grateful to be able to work towards pursuing my dreams of representing my country at the Olympics one more time, while having the most amazing support from my UGA family behind me along the way. As my final and senior season as a Gymdog is quickly approaching, I am looking forward to continuing to work hard in Canada throughout the fall in order to be at my optimal form for an unforgettable season with the best program in college gymnastics.”
