Just two days until the big game, the trip is really going fast. It doesn’t seem like it’s been a week since we left Dalton headed for LSU, but time flies when you’re having fun. I think things will be ok for us here in the lot… at least for now. Last night cooler heads prevailed and the lady even came over at midnight and gave us some Jello shooters. The police here are really cool about this scene. The officer who came over this morning to discuss the situation with us said “If she thinks that 2 guys playing guitars is loud, she hasn’t seen anything and is definitely in for a bad weekend.” He really wants us to stay in our spot instead of moving to the other side of the lot, due to safety concerns and it being so congested in here. We’ll keep you posted on this one! As far as the local report on the fans, the gator fans are being pretty good, and don’t seem to be overly confident about the game. I’m sure as the weekend goes, they will evolve into “themselves” again. All the rest of my crew left to go get some “supplies” at the grocery store, I may be stuck here for half the day… they may end up on a joyride. Now I’m thinking… are we gonna get a good enough pass rush on Tebow to throttle that offense? From what we saw at LSU, I think our offensive line may be ok… but I’m now concerned about our defense. Percy Harvin has the speed to really gash us, and those big plays we gave up at LSU for touchdowns are troublesome. I think the guys are going to be ready for this one. We keep getting info from “inside sources” that the Dawgs are going to do “something special” for this game. I have heard that we may be coming out in all red uniforms. I hope we don’t start becoming a team of gimmicks, with all the “blackouts” and that stuff. It’s ok every once in awhile, but they need to stay focused and play football. Anyway.. enough of that. Time to figure out where the boys are.. I need breakfast and my head hurts.

Good morning everyone! Thankfully, we are finally in the lot and set up in our space for the week. We felt like we were refugees lined up for two nights without being able to disconnect the tow vehicle. But, we made it through it. You never sleep good there, because you are always listening for the sound of someone cranking up and moving, thinking that something may change and they make take you in the lot early. Come to think about it, that’s been a common theme on this trip no matter where we are, we don’t get much sleep for some reason or another. Hmmmmn, wonder what the problem could be? There is an “unfair balance” in this lot, lots more Gator fans than Dawgs… but that’s due to the fact that we are basically in Gainesville’s back yard, and it’s so easy for them to get here. However there are buses rolling by us, and more Georgia fans seem to have been in the rear of the lineup. We’re cooking breakfast, and getting everything situated outside (chairs, awning, carpet etc.)and settling into the groove. I hope that we are in a good spot, because we are right on the “main drag” that comes into the lot, with our setup out towards the road. I’m not sure how easy it will be to get out of here on Sunday morning, hopefully we can whip those gayturds and the place will clear out somewhat… but there’s no use in worrying about that now, we’ll figure that out later. It’s strange having to run the heat here, not used to doing that when we are here. Most of the time it’s the A/C running. Sure hope it heats up before Saturday, but I cant complain. At least we got to come, and we are here safe and sound. I’ve got to go out and make some pics of the lot and I will add them in a bit. As for today, when everyone finishes getting all 169 units in their spaces, they will let us bring in our cars. So I think we are going grocery shopping, and maybe getting some more winter clothes somewhere since we can’t wash the few we all brought. After that, Mark is flying in this afternoon so we will get him over here and maybe play some guitars this afternoon. We’ll be back with an update this afternoon and let you know what the “mental state” of the Gator fans is like. I’m guessing they will be full of themselves and be their normal arrogant selves, but we’ll see. Be back later. Oh yeah, and props to “G Lady” for getting the phone call to Todd from down here to let us know we needed to get up here from St.Augustine on Monday night, otherwise we would be watching all this from somewhere much less appealing. Thanks again, and we’ll be back with more later.

As usual, we got a surprise phone call letting us know that the RV’s are already lining up at the stadium. That put us in a state of panic as we scrambled to get our things together at our beachfront campsite where we were hanging out in peace. We are now driving in a mad dash to get to the lot, so we can get a number as they are only allowing 160 units in the main lot. At last count, we were told there were already about 80 units in line so we had to sacrifice our last night on the beach and roll on. I don’t know why they cant pick a time and stick to it, and if you get there before time then you have to go somewhere else to park until it’s time. This crazy “fly by the seat of your pants and show up whenever you want” just makes things hard to plan for. But if were easy, then everyone would want to do it huh? The weather is starting to turn cold and windy, and I hear that rain is coming for the weekend. I don’t think that will be good for us as far as the game goes, it may make for a mess. Well, I gotta run , we’ll update as soon as we see what’s happening and where we will be. Stressful! Well, it beats work!

It’s now 9:45 am here in Jacksonville on Tuesday morning, and after our late night “sprint” from St. Augustine last night we are now in the most boring day of the trip. We just have to sit here in this stupid line of over 100+ RV’s and wait on them to decide when they are going to park us. Like I said last night, this line was not supposed to form until late this afternoon, but when some people get here early the word starts spreading and panic sets in. Cell phones start ringing and it’s an all out “Cannonball Run” from all over north Florida and South Georgia to see who can get here the fastest. When we pulled in last night we were told by the people who parked us in the line that we were somewhere around #72 in line. When we got up it’s full all the way back to the road behind us, and I’m not sure but I would say that most of the 160 units the will let in are already in line now. The bad thing is, our vehicle is hooked up behind us, and we can’t get out to go anywhere until they move us in to the lot, which isn’t supposed to happen until Wednesday morning at 6am. It’s pretty amazing that people get so fanatical about getting here that early, and are willing to sit in a line for 36 hours to do nothing but wait to get into a parking lot that costs you $350 and has no power, water or sewer hookups. I guess that’s part of what makes this game so special, it’s that people are fanatical about it all. I understand you can’t get a hotel room around here for the weekend either, it’s all booked up so far in advance. Better not plan a wedding, or even a funeral for this weekend or there will be some people somewhere with hurt feelings! I have no idea what we can do today, it’s cold and windy here so I guess we’ll watch movies and “hurry up and wait” as they say. We hear that it’s snowing in Dalton, so as they say… it could always be worse I guess. At least we have food, drinks, heat and satellite television (and wireless internet) so MAYBE we can survive the day. I’m sure you are feeling sorry for us! Thanks for all the comments from everyone, “hello and we miss you” to our wives and kids, we’ll be back with more later.

It’s now 8:30 pm, and we’ve still not moved for the last 22 hours. We’ve moved into “sailor”mode, and have gone without using our water to conserve for the week. No shower today, and we have opted for the port-o-lets that are under the bridge beside us. Things have been slow today, the wind has been blowing and has been pretty cool so we didn’t really want to be outside. We still haven’t been able to get our car out, so we have been trapped here. We thought about Vance’s suggestion of me putting on the tights and jumping from RV to RV, but decided it may not be such a good idea. We have been forced to sit inside and listen to a great radio station we found in Jacksonville, 102.9, which plays almost all 80’s music. As our buddy Jared says “that song was hot when I was hot”. So since the weather has been bad, we’ve been forced the hang out in the RV but we have had fun with our friend Chris Hayes from South Georgia. We called him last night and got out of the bed, and told him he needed to leave and drive down to get his RV in the lot, since it was filling up fast. As we speak, one of the boys from Dalton (Jared) is walking in from his flight down to hook up with us for the rest of the week. Things will start to get more busy and more crowded here soon. Today, we had to sit around and sip on Crown Royal, and try to entertain each other with funny stories. You can see how that worked out. Now Jared has 3x as much energy as we do, so we are going to have to knock him out or something because he won’t quit pacing the floor. It’s gonna be a long time until 6am, I don’t think we have enough to drink to get us by. We’ll be back after we get parked, and get you the latest news that’s fit to print.
