The days are flying by now as we edge ever closer to Countdown to Kickoff 2016 for Georgia. And speaking of things that fly; the countdown brings us to No. 19, Scott Woerner, and he certainly knew how to fly down the field.

Scott Woerner is arguably one of the best return specialist and defensive backs in University of Georgia history. He stepped onto the field between the hedges as a freshman in 1977, and by the time it was all said and done, he had 13 career interceptions (tied for 5th all-time in school history) for 303 interception return yards (2nd all-time in school history) and 147 tackles. He also has one of the longest interception returns, a 98 yarder against Clemson during the Bulldawgs 1980 National Championship season, which is third all-time in school history.

And you would be hard-pressed to find another player that has put on the silver britches to be a better punt returner than Woerner. What he did as a returner still stands in the Georgia record books. Woerner is tied for third all-time for career punt returns with 88 and second all-time for career punt return yards, and he is still the all-time leader in punt return yards for a season with 488 along with the highest average per return with 15.7.

Scott Woerner was inducted into the UGA Athletic Association Circle of Honor in 2003. He is also a recent inductee of the College Football Hall of Fame in 2016.
