Georgia sophomore running back Elijah Holyfield scored his first touchdown of his college career in the Bulldogs 45-14 win over Vanderbilt on Saturday.
The 5 foot 11, and 215 lbs Holyfield took a handoff from quarterback Jake Fromm on a 2nd and 3 at Vanderbilt’s 15-yard line straight off the left side and up the middle for six in the fourth quarter with 13:50 to go in the game. Holyfield finished with 7 carries for 51 yards and that touchdown on the afternoon, which matched his season and career-high in both carries and yardage. For the year, the tailback has 130 yards on 22 carries, averaging 5.91 yards per carry.
Last year, as a true freshman, Holyfield rushed for 29 yards on 6 carries in limited action in 5 games. Holyfield is the son of Evander Holyfield and a member of UGA’s 2016 recruiting class where he signed with the Bulldogs out of Woodward Academy, College Park, GA.
