Georgia junior receiver/return specialist Isaiah McKenzie has been included on the 2016 Paul Hornung Award Watch List, according to an announcement from the Louisville Sports Commission.

The Hornung Award, which is presented by the Texas Roadhouse, is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football by the Louisville Sports Commission and football legend and Louisville native Paul Hornung.  The winner and his family will be honored at the annual Paul Hornung Award Banquet presented by KentuckyOne Health, to be held at the Galt House Hotel in downtown Louisville in February 2017.  The Paul Hornung Award recently was named an associate member of the prestigious National College Football Awards Association.

Georgia’s Brandon Boykin won the 2011 Hornung Award, which began in 2010.

McKenzie, a native of Miami, Fla., finished his sophomore season with 10 catches for 123 yards along with 11 carries for 117 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games.  On special teams, he led the charge with 17 punt returns for 217 yards (12.8 average) and two scores and four kickoff returns for 42 yards.

McKenzie’s four career punt returns for touchdowns after also returning a pair in 2014 ranks him fifth in SEC history.  His five total returns for scores (four punts, one kickoff return) is tied for third best in the league record books.  McKenzie’s five returns for touchdowns on special teams also ties the school record.
