A guide to the Golden Isles with UGA Alumni Katherine and Hudson Swafford for all you Bulldog fans traveling to the Georgia-Florida game. Compiled by Katy Wildes.

Hudson started his time at the University of Georgia in August of 2006 playing on the UGA Golf Team for Coach Chris Haack. After shoulder surgery for a torn labrum forced him to redshirt his 2009-2010 season, Hudson elected to stay for a fifth year and graduated in May 2011 with a degree in Housing and Consumer Economics. Swafford went on to play on the Web.com Tour (formerly the Nationwide Tour) where he won the Stadion Classic at the UGA Golf course in May 2012. He has lived on St. Simons Island since 2012.

Katherine joined Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and majored in Accounting graduating in May 2011. She went on to receive her Masters of Accountancy from UGA in May 2012 and moved to Atlanta to work as an auditor at KPMG. Katherine moved to the Golden Isles in late 2013 after she and Hudson married at Frederica Golf Club on New Year’s Eve.

FAVORITE GA/FLA TRADITIONS

Bubba Garcia’s

BUBBA GARCIA’S

Bubba Garcia’s – great for lunch or dinner … even a late night drink upstairs at Bubba’s Up. Bubba’s is a staple on the island and the perfect place to kick off Georgia-Florida.

SEA ISLAND RESORTS

Sea Island Resorts – whether kicking back at the Beachclub, playing golf at one of their many courses, or having cocktails with a view – Sea Island has something for everyone in your group.

BROGEN’S SOUTH

You can always count on Brogen’s South for a good time during Georgia-Florida. We actually met for the first time at Brogen’s South during Georgia-Florida our senior year … the rest is history!

FRAT BEACH

While we may not frequent Frat Beach anymore, no Georgia- Florida rec list is complete without it. You have to see it to believe it and it’s well worth the visit!
