2nd Annual DeAngelo Tyson Foundation March 24th-25th

Georgia Bulldog and current Seattle Seahawk defensive lineman DeAngelo Tyson will be hosting his second annual Tyson Foundation Dinner and Golf Tournament fundraiser this Thursday and Friday on March 24th and 25th at the Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Georgia.
 
 
Tyson’s Foundation raised over $73,000 in funds last year, which went toward helping open a boy’s home, named Joseph’s home, with the Broken Shackles Ranch.
 
 
For this years event, the goal of the Foundation is raise funds to open the DeAngelo Tyson Sports Complex at the 7th Mile Campground, which is located adjacent to the boy’s home home at the old Smithfield Golf Course in Statesboro, Georgia.
 
 
A number of former Georgia Bulldog football players and current NFL players will be in attendance.

DeAngelo Tyson is a native of Statesboro, GA and played varsity high school football at Statesboro high school. He was a member of UGA’s 2008 recruiting class and was named to the freshman All-SEC Coaches team after playing in all 13 games for Georgia in 2008. Tyson played for the Bulldogs on the defensive line from 2008-2011 in over 50 games, starting 23 of those. After his senior season at Georgia, he went on to be drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the 7th round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He played with the Ravens from 2012-2015 before being waived by Baltimore last year. He signed with the Seattle Seahawks this off-season.
