Former Lady Dawgs’ Team Places 7th in the Eurobasket Championship

[su_spacer size=”20″] June 28, 2015, BUDAPEST, Hungary — Former Georgia Lady Bulldog Angel Robinson and Montenegro beat Lithuania in an 89-77 decision in the classification round of the 2015 EuroBasket Championship on Saturday. The win solidifies Montenegro’s seventh place finish in the tournament.

[su_spacer size=”20″] In the final game of the 2015 EuroBasket Championship, Robinson played a total of 30 minutes and scored 24 points, going 11-for-14 from the floor and 2-for-4 from the free throw line. She also had 11 rebounds, making this her fourth double-double performance in EuroBasket play. Robinson finished the tournament with a field goal percentage of 58.7, the leader among all players. She ranked second in double-doubles with four as well as total rebounds with an average of 8.9 per game.
[su_spacer size=”40″] The EuroBasket Championship concluded on Sunday with Serbia taking home the title in a 76-68 decision over France. Spain finished with the bronze medal after a 74-58 victory over Belarus. Turkey finished fifth and earned the final spot in the 2016 Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament after a 68-66 overtime win against Russia.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Robinson, a native of Marietta who became a naturalized citizen of Montenegro earlier this year, was an All-SEC performer for the Lady Bulldogs in 2009. She finished her career ranked No. 25 among UGA’s career scoring leaders, as well as No. 4 in blocked shots and No. 5 in rebounds.
