[su_spacer size=”20″] Mónica Lebrón, Associate Athletics Director for Development at the University of Mississippi, has been named Associate Athletic Director for Development at the University of Georgia according to an announcement Monday by UGA J. Reid Parker Director of Athletics Greg McGarity.

 

“We are thrilled to have Mónica join our staff,” said McGarity.  “She is very passionate about college athletics, and we know her personality and determination will be a tremendous asset to our team. Over the past decade, Mónica has been involved at the highest levels of development at three outstanding institutions, and we know she will be an outstanding leader for our program.”

 

Lebrón also served as Assistant Athletics Director for Development at Ole Miss from 2012-14.  Prior to joining the Ole Miss staff, she held positions as Senior Associate Director of Major Gifts (2011-2012) and Senior Major Gifts Officer (2008-2011) at the University of California, Berkeley.  Lebrón also served as Associate Director (2006-2008) and Assistant Director (2004-2006) of Gator Boosters, Inc., at the University of Florida.

 

Lebrón received her BA in Women’s and Gender Studies from Yale University (2001), Master of Sports Administration and Master of Business Administration from Ohio University (2003) and has been working on her PhD in Higher Education at the University of Mississippi.

 

As an undergraduate at Yale, she was a three-time All-Ivy League softball player, GTE CoSIDA District All-Academic and Academic All-Ivy League selection.  She also served as team captain.

 

During her undergraduate years and following graduation she held internships at the University of Michigan, University of Washington, Yale University, and Stanford University.
