Baseball: FSU Series Begins Today, Doubleheader Tomorrow

[break] Please note the following schedule change for the upcoming Georgia-FSU series at Foley Field.
[break] [break] Game one remains on Friday at 5 p.m., and the teams will wrap up the series on Saturday by playing a doubleheader. All games will be nine innings.
[break] [break] Saturday’s first game of the day will begin at noon, and the final game of the series will start at 4:30 pm and be televised by the SEC Network. One ticket is good for both games on Saturday. Fans will be allowed to leave and re-enter with their Saturday ticket.
[break] [break] Fans holding a ticket for Sunday’s Georgia-FSU game can exchange that ticket for any remaining regular season game at Foley Field this year provided tickets are still available. The tickets can be exchanged at the Foley Field Box Office, which opens two hours before every game.

 

The Bulldogs (3-0) opened the season last weekend with a three-game sweep of Eastern Illinois. The 11th-ranked Seminoles are 3-1 after a sweep of Oakland and then falling to Jacksonville this past Wednesday. FSU holds a 38-25 edge in the series history with the Bulldogs including going 2-0 last season in Tallahassee.

 

Here are the probable pitching matchups for the series:

Georgia’s Robert Tyler (1-0, 3.60), RHP, So. versus FSU’s Mike Compton, RHP, RJr. (0-0, 0.00)

Georgia’s Ryan Lawlor (1-0, 3.00), LHP, Jr. versus FSU’s Boomer Biegalski, RHP, So. (1-0, 3.60)

Georgia’s David Sosebee (1-0, 0.00), RHP, Jr. versus FSU’s Cobi Johnson, RHP, Fr. (1-0, 0.00)

Park And Ride Shuttle Service Available Friday For Baseball, Gymnastics Fans

 

A park and ride shuttle service will be available to fans attending the Georgia baseball game and gymnastics meet on Friday, Feb. 20 from 5 p.m. until approximately 10 p.m. Buses will run from the bus stops at the UGA Intramural Fields to the old bus stop location at the Miller Plant Sciences Building on Carlton Street. The bus stops at the intramural fields include the intramural field parking deck and the area adjacent to the lot used by RVs for football games. The pick-up location after the baseball and gymnastics events will be the same.

 

The Bulldog baseball game begins at 5 p.m. while the Georgia gymnastics squad will compete against No. 5 Alabama at Stegeman Coliseum at 7 p.m.
