The Southeastern Conference has selected Tucker Bradley and Cole Wilcox for weekly honors following another splendid showing in leading fourth-ranked Georgia to an 11-1 start.

The natives of Chickamauga, Ga., were instrumental in Georgia going 4-0 last week including sweeping No. 17 Georgia Tech for the third time in the past four years. Bradley, a 6-0, 206-pound redshirt junior, was named the SEC Player of the Week while Wilcox, a 6-5, 232-pound sophomore, was tabbed the SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week.

Bradley has enjoyed one of the hottest starts in the country, leading the SEC in home runs, RBI, total bases, and he ranks second in hits, batting, stolen bases, and slugging percentage. Last week, the outfielder/pitcher batted .412 (7-for-17) with eight runs scored, three home runs and nine RBI. He smashed a three-run home run in last Friday’s 6-5 win over Tech here, scored three times and hit a home run at Tech Saturday and then collected his latest three-hit game in securing the sweep Sunday at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville. Overall, Bradley is batting .447 with six home runs and 19 RBI plus has pitched 3.1 scoreless innings.

Wilcox was brilliant in clinching the series over Tech Saturday in Atlanta, firing seven shutout innings with a career-high 11 strikeouts. After a one-out single in the first inning, he retired 14 in a row. Then, Tech put runners at the corners with nobody out in the sixth, and he took care of the next three hitters to end the threat. He allowed just three hits with no walks. Wilcox, along with senior Justin Glover who took care of the final two frames Saturday, led Georgia to its first shutout on Tech’s campus since 1964. For the year, Wilcox is 2-0 with a 2.00 ERA. He has 26 strikeouts and two walks in 18 innings this season. The SEC also named Braden Forsyth (Ole Miss) as Co-Pitcher of the week after he collected three saves this weekend including two that were in one-run contests.

Up next, Georgia plays host to Georgia Southern (5-5) Tuesday. First pitch at Foley Field is slated for 5:02 p.m. (SECN+). The Bulldogs are off to their best start since winning their first 14 games in 2009.
