UGA baseball head coach Scott Stricklin discusses the Georgia-Georgia Southern game where the Bulldogs came up short at Foley Field on Tuesday night, losing to the Eagles 6-3.

“They outplayed us. Georgia Southern was the better team tonight,” said Coach Stricklin. “(Tyler) Owens gave them a really good start. They made some spectacular defensive plays in the field. In the first inning, the momentum switched. Their centerfielder, (Parker) Bierderer, robs a two-run homerun from Tucker Bradley, and we are thinking it is 2-0 but all of a sudden it is 0-0 and they have the momentum. That was a big play. Offensively they were good throughout their lineup. They competed really well.”

The No. 3 Diamond Dogs resume action on Wednesday at SRP Park as they travel to Augusta to play Georgia Southern in game two of the series. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. ET.
