Emerson joined the UGA baseball team as part of the Bulldogs’ 2018 signing class out of Cairo High School, Cairo, GA. He started over 33 games for the Diamond Dawgs pitching over 192 innings with a 16-7 record over that span and a 3.47 career ERA.
He was named to the 2020 CoSIDA Academic All-District Team as well as the SEC Community Service Team, and Emerson was named the 2020 Vince Dooley Athlete Of The Year as the top male student-athlete at the University of Georgia as selected by The Georgia Way and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Emerson is considered one of the top pitching prospects in the 2020 MLB Draft.
