The Georgia men’s basketball team will host “See #theSteg” next Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. for the opportunity to see the newly renovated Stegeman Coliseum. The event will precede Georgia’s football game that evening at 7:30 p.m.

Doors on the Carlton and Smith Street sides of Stegeman Coliseum will open at 2:30. The Bulldogs will conduct an open practice from 3:00-4:15 p.m. before signing autographs for fans from 4:15-4:45.

Fans will have a chance to see the renovations Stegeman Coliseum underwent during the summer of 2017. The $8-million project included the addition of a center-hung scoreboard and numerous other LED graphics boards, significantly upgraded lighting and sound systems, the replacing of the arena’s seats from red to black and graphics celebrating many the venue’s greatest teams and players.

The Bulldogs return four starting spots and nine of their top-10 scorers from last year’s team which reached postseason play for the fourth straight season. Georgia’s roster is headlined by senior forward Yante Maten, who was tabbed the preseason SEC Player of the Year and third-team All-America by the Blue Ribbon Basketball Yearbook. Maten is the SEC’s leading returning scorer at 18.2 ppg and also is the league’s active career leader in points, rebounds, and blocked shots.

Georgia will begin the 2017-18 season on Friday, Oct. 10, when the Bulldogs host Bryant at 7:00 p.m.

While the season opener is still more than a month away, the Bulldogs have already set a season ticket sales record for the second-straight year. Season tickets for Georgia’s 15-game home schedule are $225 for fans and $112.50 for UGA faculty/staff and can be ordered online at georgiadogs.com. UGA students are admitted to all home games free of charge with a valid UGA card.’
