Incoming Lady Bulldog Shanea Armbrister Playing Internationally This Summer

[su_spacer size=”20″] The Georgia Lady Bulldogs will have representation in both the FIBA EuroBasket Championship and the Caribbean Basketball Confederation Championships starting next week. Incoming transfer Shanea Armbrister will be playing on the Bahamian National Team, and former player Angel Robinson is a member of the Montenegro National Team.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Armbrister, a native of Nassau, is a transfer from Darton State College in Albany, Ga., coming to Georgia as a junior. Armbrister leaves Darton State scoring an average 26.9 points per game last season, which was third overall in junior college play, and earned third-team All-American honors.
[su_spacer size=”40″] During the 2014 CBC Championships, Armbrister averaged 15.8 points per game and was the fifth-leading scorer of the tournament. The preliminary rounds of the 2015 CBC Championships begin on Monday, June 8 with the Bahamas taking on the Virgin Islands at 1:15.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Angel Robinson, who recently became a naturalized citizen of Montenegro, was a Lady Bulldog from 2005-10. She finished her career as a member of the 1,000 point club, and was No. 25 among Georgia’s career scoring leaders, as well as No. 4 in blocked shots and No. 5 in rebounds on UGA’s career leaders list.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Robinson will be playing on the Montenegro National team and competing for the EuroBasket Women’s title. Robinson currently plays professionally on Perfumerias Avenida in Spain where she averaged 13.4 points and 10.3 rebounds per game during the 2015 season in EuroLeague play. Montenegro takes on the Czech Republic on Thursday, June 11 in Timisoara, Romania.
