Joni Taylor Camp Dates Announced

ATHENS, Ga. — After leading her team to its most regular season wins since the 2006-07 campaign and a trip to the NCAA tournament, Georgia Lady Bulldogs basketball head coach Joni Taylor has announced dates for her upcoming summer camps.

The summer schedule tips off June 3-5 with the Future Lady Dogs Camp and concludes with the Lady Dogs Team Camp on June 8-10. The fourth camp season under Taylor’s tenure will take place in the first-class amenities of the Stegeman Coliseum Practice Facility and Ramsey Student Center.  Registration is now open and those interested can register by using this link http://www.jonitaylorbasketballcamps.com

The Future Lady Dogs Camp is open to ages 7-15 and is a great opportunity for players to showcase their ability in 5 on 5 games and learn new drills to develop their skills. There will be a mixture of position work, intense drills including offensive, defensive and agility stations, and games throughout the camp.  The cost for is $240 for commuters and $290 for overnighters (must be at least 12 years old prior to the start of camp).

Lady Dog Team Camp is June 8, 9 and 10 and teams have the option of participating one or multiple days.  The Lady Dog Team Camp is a great opportunity for high school and AAU teams to prepare for the season. Teams will receive the opportunity to play against some of the best girls’ programs in the southern region and can display their talents in front of the Georgia women’s basketball coaching staff.  The cost is $100 per team, per day with an additional one-time per player fee of $25. For more information, please contact Jon Bollier by phone at 706-542-9482 or by email at jbollier@sports.uga.edu.

Camp participants will receive hands-on training from not only Taylor, who was a semifinalist for the 2018 Werner Ladder National Coach of the Year Award, but also four All-SEC honorees.

The Lady Bulldogs finished the regular season in a tie for second place in the SEC standings, marking its best finish in the league since 2006-07.

Georgia’s mantra this past year was Defense Travels. The Lady Bulldogs led the SEC in field-goal percentage defense during the regular season, holding teams to just 34.5 percent from the floor, while keeping 23 of 29 opponents, including five-straight to end the year, at or below 40-percent shooting from the field.

Those skills and more will be on display at the 2018 Joni Taylor Summer Camps.
