A year after finishing in second place in the Southeastern Conference standings, the Georgia Lady Bulldogs basketball team is set to face a challenging league slate in 2019, the SEC office announced Thursday afternoon.
This season’s 16-game schedule features eight home and eight away contents with tilts against six teams that made the NCAA tournament in 2018. As part of Georgia’s SEC schedule rotation, the Lady Bulldogs will play home and away games against both Alabama and Arkansas in addition to two contests against Florida.

The conference schedule culminates with the 2019 SEC Tournament on March 6-10 in Greenville, S.C.
“As is the case every year in this league, each game on our schedule will be a huge challenge,” head coach Joni Taylor said. “We were able to put together a strong non-conference schedule that will help prepare us for what will be a very competitive year in the SEC. In this league, you have to bring it every single night, and our team understands that. We will be ready to go, and we look forward to another great season in the best conference in the nation.”
Georgia’s 2019 SEC schedule tips off with a home game against LSU on Jan. 3, followed by back-to-back road contests at Vanderbilt (Jan. 6) and at Mississippi State (Jan. 10). Those matchups are part of a schedule that features three road contests in the first five games.
Including the Vanderbilt and Mississippi State games, the Lady Bulldogs will play Missouri (Jan. 17), Arkansas (Jan. 31), Auburn (Feb. 3), South Carolina (Feb. 14), Alabama (Feb. 24) and Florida (Feb. 28) on the road and will host LSU (Jan. 3), Tennessee (Jan. 13), Texas A&M (Jan. 20), Alabama (Jan. 27), Florida (Feb. 10), Ole Miss (Feb. 18), Arkansas (Feb. 21) and Kentucky (March 3).
Taylor and her team enter the 2018-19 season with six of their top seven scorers, including three starters, back from last year’s squad that won 26 games and finished in second place in the SEC standings. Among the returners are 2018 All-SEC and All-America honorable mention selection Caliya Robinson, 2018 SEC All-Freshman Team pick Que Morrison and starting point guard Taja Cole.
