Georgia Lady Bulldog Shacobia Barbee underwent successful surgery on Tuesday to repair a fracture of her left distal fibula suffered during this past Sunday’s game against Florida.

“Shacobia underwent surgery today to repair a fracture that occurred in our last game against Florida,” head coach Joni Taylor said. “You can’t say enough about ‘Cobi’ and the tremendous contributions she has made to Georgia Basketball. We look forward to her full recovery, and I know that other players on our team are ready to step in during her absence.”

A 5-foot-10 senior guard, Barbee was injured in the second half against the Gators. She is averaging 12.7 points per game to go along with 9.1 rebounds per contest during the 2015-16 campaign.

Last season, Barbee injured her right distal fibula in a game against Tennessee.

The Lady Bulldogs, who have won six of their last seven games, host Arkansas on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET, before closing out the regular season on the road at Tennessee on Sunday.
