Reigan Richardson – a four-star guard and one of the top-ranked players in the nation — joins highly touted prospects Kimora ‘Kimmie’ Jenkins and Alina Sendar as the first signees of the Lady Bulldogs’ 2021 class, head coach Joni Taylor announced.

Wednesday marks the beginning of the early signing period, which runs until Nov. 18. Richardson, Jenkins and Sendar will join the Lady Bulldogs as freshmen beginning with the 2021-22 season.

“What a great start to our 2021 class,” Taylor said. “We are thrilled to add these three extremely talented players to our program. It has been great to build relationships with Alina, Kimmie, Reigan and their families during this recruiting process. They will all be a huge part of our success going forward, and I am excited they are joining our family.

“Alina brings tremendous experience from her years of playing with the U16 Netherlands National Team. She is the ultimate competitor and fits our style of play with toughness and ability to defend. Kimmie’s ability to create offense for her teammates with her vision and IQ will be a great asset to our team. And then with Reigan, we are getting one of the best players in the country. She is smooth, she is athletic and brings a scorer’s mentality to the floor. Most importantly, they are all great young ladies who fit our program.”

Richardson prepped at Cannon High School in Huntersville, N.C. She is ranked as the No. 15 overall guard nationally by espnW.

She led the Cannon Cougars, coached by Kelvin Drakeford, to the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 4A semifinals, averaging 22.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 2.4 assists per game – all team highs. She was named the 2020 Charlotte Independent Schools Athletic Association Player of the Year.

Richardson was named to the 2020 AP All-State Team and was also a member of the NCISAA 4A All-State Team back-to-back years (2019, 2020).

Jenkins — a Long Island, New York native who is listed at 6-foot-1 — is a versatile and athletic guard prospect out of Millbrook High School. She averaged 20.0 ppg, 4.0 apg and 5.3 rpg last season and has been the team captain the last two years.

Jenkins is Millbrook’s all-time leading scorer with 792 points in just two seasons. Last year, she led her team to its first-ever NEPSAC tournament appearance.

Sendar is a guard who currently resides in Amsterdam, Netherlands. She plays at Orange Lions Academy in Amsterdam and has competed with the Netherlands national team in the European Championship since 2018.
