The top-ranked Georgia equestrian team hits the road for the first time this spring to face the No. 8 Gamecocks of South Carolina at One Wood Farm in Blythewood, South Carolina on Saturday, February 17 at 1 p.m.

Despite a loss to then-No. 4 Auburn last week, the Bulldogs held on to the No. 1 spot in the team rankings.  Georgia’s Western squads- Horsemanship and Reining- also remain at No. 1 in respective event rankings, while Equitation on the Flat came in at No. 3 and Equitation Over Fences ranks fourth.

As the eighth-ranked team in the country, South Carolina checks in at the tenth spot of the event rankings for Equitation Over Fences, Horsemanship, and Reining.

Earlier this season, Georgia (6-1, 3-1 SEC) defeated South Carolina (2-5, 0-4 SEC) 14-6 at home.  Four Georgia riders earned Most Outstanding Performance (MOP) honors for their rides during that meet, including sophomore Grace Bridges (Equitation on the Flat), sophomore Maddy Darst (Equitation Over Fences), junior Graysen Stroud (Horsemanship), and sophomore Annabeth Payne (Reining).
