EQUESTRIAN: Georgia Takes No. 1 Spot in Latest NCEA Rankings

After riding to a strong 12-4 defeat of then-No. 1 Texas A&M, Georgia equestrian has claimed the top spot in the latest NCEA rankings, the National Collegiate Equestrian Association selection committee announced on Tuesday.

 
Georgia currently holds a 2-0 record on the season with a 1-0 mark in Southeastern Conference action.
 
 
Georgia and Texas A&M switched spots in the rankings with the Aggies now being the No. 2 team. Auburn and Oklahoma State have held steady at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively, since the preseason rankings. SMU sits at No. 5 with TCU and Baylor following. Fresno State has moved up to No. 8 and UT-Martin is No. 9. South Dakota State has slid into the top-10 after defeating then- No. 8 South Carolina, 15-4.

Georgia will travel to Texas to face TCU on Friday, Oct. 20 at 10 a.m. CT. The Bulldogs are back at home on Friday, November 3 for an SEC showdown against South Carolina. That meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and admission is free.
