[su_spacer size=”40″] University of Georgia equestrian head coach Meghan Boenig will receive the Golden Saddle Award from the Georgia Commodity Commission for Equine. Each year this award is given to an individual who promotes the horse industry in Georgia.

[su_spacer size=”40″] “What an honor to be recognized by the state for the many accomplishments that Georgia equestrian has done over the last year,” Boenig said. “What’s particularly great about it is that it’s a youth event. I think the passion you see in sport, youth and equine is a great collaboration of everything from academics to discipline to responsibility. That’s what I think will be fun about this event, the focus on the youth. I’m very, very proud and honored to be a participant in it.”
[su_spacer size=”40″] The Georgia Commodity Commission for Equine will hold a reception on Tuesday, Feb. 2, where Boenig will be given her award. The event honors youth ages 6-19 in Georgia who have placed first in a state show or in the Top 10 in a world or national show. Attendees will be honored by the Governor and Legislators. The event is closed to the public.
