The top-ranked Georgia equestrian team finished the fall portion of its schedule undefeated after riding to a 13-7 victory over Delaware State on Friday at the Dovington Training Center. With the win, Georgia improves to 6-0 on the season.

Sophomore Maddy Darst earned Most Outstanding Performance honors for her rides in Equitation on the Flat and Equitation Over Fences after scoring an 80 in both events. Senior captain Kyndall Harper earned the honors in Reining.

“This was a very nice end to the fall season,” head coach Meghan Boenig said. “As always, Delaware State is a great host. We’re very proud of the rides and success, particularly Maddy Darst with her two MOPs today. We look forward to rest and recuperation, and to continue building from the lessons of today and throughout the season in order to put them into action for the spring.”

The Bulldogs jumped to a 4-1 lead in Equitation Over Fences. Darst led off with an 80-77 win over Delaware State’s Zoe Kirsch. Senior Meghan Flanagan earned the first point of her career with a ten-point margin of victory, 83-73. Ali Tritschler edged her opponent, 82-81, before Sydney Hutchins closed the event with an 83-68 win.

The Horsemanship squad rode to a 4-1 victory over the Hornets. The Bulldogs dropped the first point, before senior captain Sammie Johnson rode to a 70.5-68 victory. Madison Anger and Payton Anderson earned the next two points for the Bulldogs after riding to scores of 73.5. Anna Hutlas scored a 73 to earn the final point of the event over DSU’s Kelsey McArthur’s score of 68.5.
