[su_spacer size=”20″] The No. 2 UGA equestrian team will conclude regular season competition this weekend at the Student Horse Center in Fresno, Calif. Georgia will first compete in Equitation on the Flat and Horsemanship against No. 4 TCU on Friday, March 6. The Bulldogs will then conclude with Equitation Over Fences and Reining against the Horned Frogs on Saturday, March 7 followed by a complete meet facing No. 6 Fresno State. The Bulldogs currently stand 7-4 on the season and moved from No. 3 to No. 2 in the most recent NCEA coach’s poll.

“We are looking forward to this weekend,” said head coach Meghan Boenig. “Traveling and riding unfamiliar horses is the best preparation possible for the upcoming post season. We certainly do not underestimate Fresno State or TCU and expect tough competition. Our focus is going to be in the details. We are at that point where we need to be precise but also push for those extra points. After this weekend we will know exactly what to work on before heading into SECs.”

The last time Georgia and Fresno State met was in the season-opener of the 2013-14 season. Georgia took a 16-3 victory along with all four MOP honors. The Bulldogs also defeated TCU last year 11-6 on the road, and once again earned every MOP award.

Georgia is coming off of a 13-6 decision over Texas A&M. The Bulldogs started the day with a 5-0 sweep in Equitation Over Fences, followed by a 3-1 victory in Horsemanship. Texas A&M grabbed their only event win of the day with a 3-2 decision in Equitation on the Flat. The Bulldogs used a 3-2 victory in Reining to seal the 13-6 win.

The Bulldogs picked up three MOPs against the Aggies from Kylee Arbuckle (Equitation Over Fences), Sara Parr (Horsemanship) and Lauren Garmon (Reining).
