Atlanta Falcons Sign Former UGA Kicker Blair Walsh

The Atlanta Falcons have signed former University of Georgia kicker Blair Walsh.

Walsh played for the Bulldogs from 2008-2011 where he was nearly perfect on PATs successfully converting 184 of 185 attempts and was 76 for 103 on field-goal attempts. During his time at UGA, Walsh scored 412 total points and remains Georgia’s all-time leading scorer in school history, which was also a Southeastern Conference record until broken by Daniel Carlson in 2017.

After his senior season at UGA, Walsh was drafted in round six, 174th overall by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2012 NFL Draft. During his rookie season with the Vikings, Walsh was outstanding, making good on 92.1% of his field-goal attempts including a long of 56-yards, which ties a Minnesota franchise record, and a perfect 36 for 36 on PATs. His performance earned Walsh All-Pro first-team selection and honors. Walsh would go on to play for the Vikings for four more seasons before heading to the Seattle Seahawks in 2017.
