NEWS:

Byron Young is a 2019 four-star defensive end from Laurel Mississippi. He’s 6-4 285 pounds. According to the latest 2019 247Sports Composite rankings, he ranks as the No. 88 overall prospect, the No. 6 SDE, and the No. 4 player in Mississippi. Young currently holds 11 offers with the latest coming from Arkansas on Feb. 27. On July 4 at midnight, he announced that he committed to Alabama. He seems to be 100 percent committed to the Tide, but he has taken visits this summer and fall. On Sept. 15, he visited Ole Miss, a one time leader for the defensive end. Then he took an official visit to Florida on Oct. 5. According to his 247Sports profile, Ole Miss holds a 38 percent advantage, Mississippi State holds 25 percent advantage, Alabama with 25 percent and Georgia rounding it off with a 12 percent advantage. Young took his official visit to Alabama on Dec. 7. Seems like he will end up with the Tide, but he has three more OV’s he can use.  Even though he is an Alabama commit, he could look elsewhere as he is a Feb. signing day guy.
