Daily Dawg Thread 27 April 2020: Tight end Moliki Matavao announces his top-6

Liberty High School 2021 tight end Moliki Matavao announced his top-six programs out of over 34 scholarship offers on Sunday, April 26th.

His top schools’ list includes Georgia, Oregon, Penn State, UCLA, and Washington. Could he join fellow state of Nevada TE Darnell Washington (2020 signee) at UGA?

The Bulldogs were one of only two SEC programs to make it into Matavao’s top-six. Tennessee was the other. Matavao was offered by Georgia back in April of last year, and the 6-foot-6 and 240 lbs plus receiver came west from Henderson, Nevada to visit UGA last summer in June.

Right now, there is one crystal ball prediction in over at 247Sports for Matavao for the Washington Huskies, but UGA has gained some recruiting momentum here.

247Sports rates Matavao a four-star prospect, the No. 4 tight end, the No. 1 player from the state of Nevada, and a top-150 recruit nationally for the 2021 recruiting class. Rivals also rates Matavao a four-star prospect at tight end and have him as a top-100 recruit and one of the top-5 tight ends nationally.

Matavao has hauled in over 64 receptions for 1,045 yards and 12 touchdowns for the Liberty Patriots in 21 games the past two seasons at tight end and wide receiver. He also competes in varsity high school basketball. You can watch Moliki Matavao’s most recent 2019 junior season highlights by clicking on the video below.
