Daily Dawg Thread 29 June 2020: Pace Academy wide receiver Jayden Thomas

Back in February, Pace Academy 2021 wide receiver Jayden Thomas named his top-eleven schools out of over 26 scholarship offers.

The University of Georgia were among those eleven programs, including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, LSU, Michigan, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Tennessee, and Virginia Tech. If you are counting, that is at least six Southeastern Conference schools.

So, what has been happening in Thomas’ world since he released his top-11?

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound rising senior has picked up a couple of more football scholarship offers including one from Penn State on June 4th, and he recently also picked up a baseball scholarship offer from the Bulldogs’ in-state rival, Georgia Tech, on June 27th.

His primary recruiter is UGA assistant coach Cortez Hankton, and despite not being able to take any visits on campus to Athens or for Coach Hankton and any members of the Dawgs’ staff to make any in-person off-campus visits due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, Thomas and Georgia have continued to be in communication electronically.

Thomas also has 33 stops on defense with 1 tackle for a loss, 1 quarterback pressure, and 3 passes defended. A multi-talented athlete, in addition to football, Thomas also competes in varsity high school baseball and basketball.

Thomas is rated a four-star wide receiver prospect for by both 247Sports and Rivals as well as ESPN, and he is considered one of the top 25 players from the state of Georgia. You can watch Jayden Thomas’ most recent highlights by clicking on the video below.
