Daily Dawg Thread – 30August2019: Kelee Ringo Update

We last gave an update on 2020 defensive back Kelee Ringo at the beginning of July. That was about six weeks ago; so, it’s time to look in on the senior out of Scottsdale, AZ again.

Does Georgia still lead for Ringo?

Ringo has visited UGA at least four times since the first of the year. The last visit being on during the July 27th weekend. On top of that, all the recruiting buzz surrounding Ringo seems to be pointing towards the Bulldogs. The last ten 247Sports crystal ball predictions from the recruiting experts since Ringo’s visit on May 18th have been to Georgia.

When will Ringo announce his decision?

Kelee hasn’t set a specific announcement date as of yet, but he is a prospect that we definitely would keep on commitment watch this fall.

What’s next for Ringo?

Saguaro hosted Poston Butte last Friday night to kick off their high school football season, winning quite handily 63-0, and Ringo and the Sabercats will travel to Cathedral Catholic tomorrow for a Saturday afternoon game on August 31st. So he is concentrating on helping his team and knuckling down on his studies at the moment. Expect Ringo to set up some visits this fall, and UGA should get one of his five officials.

The rankings…

Whichever program lands Ringo will be getting one of the top defensive backs prospects in the country for the 2020 recruiting class. 247Sports and ESPN both rate the 6-foot-2 and 205 lbs Ringo as a 5-star prospect and the No. 1 CB in the country. 247 has Ringo as the No. 8 player overall nationally while ESPN has him at No. 12.  Rivals also rates Ringo as a 5-star prospect but have him just a little lower at CB at No. 2 and a little higher nationally at No. 6 overall.
