Jacob Eason had a splendid G-Day. Now an ESPN analyst has mentioned Jacob Eason in the same breath as Lebron James. The Eason hype train is picking up speed.

ESPN’s Anthony “Booger” McFarland said of Eason:

It reminded me, and I know people are going to take this the wrong way, the first time you saw LeBron James. He’s 18 years old, and you say ‘okay, this kid is coming to the NBA. Let me see what all the hype is about.’ And then you finally see it and you say, ‘okay, even though LeBron is thin, very small’ you saw what the hype was about. Now Jacob Eason is not LeBron. I want to make sure everybody understands that. He’s not LeBron, but I wanted to see what the hype was about. And Paul, the hype was there. This man made a couple throws in the spring game, and the spring game is not about the competition, it’s about the individual, especially the quarterback position. Can you throw the football and can you throw it with accuracy and can you throw it with velocity? And the way he throws the football, Paul, he’s got it.

    He’s not wrong. You can see the kid’s talent from a mile away, and he acknowledges that he still needs work as well. If he works hard (LBJ is also one of the hardest working guys in the NBA), is willing to learn, and stays healthy, Eason has all the tools to be a #1 overall draft pick type player.

    Frankly  But I’ll bet you’ve put a deposit down for an option on a later purchase ;-}

    I am not buying a ticket on the train because I know the kid still has a TON of work to do to be a legit SEC starter.

    Jacob Eason was definitely the “star” of G-Day, and he did not disappoint. The Bulldawgs and Eason put on a show for the fans and the recruits for all of Georgia and the college football world to see.
