GEORGIA vs. MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE MATCHUP

This matchup will be the second-ever meeting between Georgia and Middle Tennessee State. The first meeting came in 2003 in Athens when then No. 8 Georgia beat the Blue Raiders 29-10. Georgia averages 43 points a game while Middle Tennessee State averages 34. The Bulldogs are back home to take on the Blue Raiders after stomping South Carolina in their first road test. The victory in Columbia marked the most points Georgia has ever scored there. Middle Tennesse has something you don’t often see in college football, a father as the head coach and the son as the quarterback. Head coach Rick Stockstill is in his 13th season as head coach and his son, Brent, is the starting quarterback. This is one of seven active sons playing for their father who is their head coach. It’s the only head coach/starting QB combo in Division 1-A.
Middle Tennessee averages 102 yards on the ground while averaging 287 in the air. Expect them to air it out and attempt to score points. Despite only scoring seven in its loss to Vanderbilt, the Blue Raiders put up 61 points on Tennessee-Martin. Georgia, on the other hand, has a pretty balanced offense. It averages 277.5 yards on the ground and 213 in the air. The Bulldogs average about 490.5 total yards a game while the Blue Raiders average 389.
