It was Georgia’s first true road game of the season and Southeastern Conference contest as well. On the road in Columbia, MO, could Head Coach Kirby Smart and true freshman quarterback Jacob Eason get the win or would mighty Mizzou rain on their parade?

The Dawgs got punched in the mouth by the Tigers early on, falling behind 10 to zip before 7 minutes had ticked off the clock in the first quarter. Georgia would battle back and trade punches, going into halftime 21-20 lead.

That lead would not last long as freshman QB Jacob Eason would throw an interception on the Dawgs opening drive of the second half and Mizzou would put 7 on the board before 2 minutes had passed, retaking the lead 27-21.

However, when all hoped seemed lost, the offense and the freshman would get the ball back late in the fourth with 3:32 left to go in the game. And we watched as number 10 led the Bulldog offense down the field and threw a game-winning touchdown to wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie. Georgia’s defense would seal the 28-27 victory with a forced fumble and recovery on Mizzou’s ensuing offensive possession.
