Georgia found its quarterback for the 2019 class. John Rhys Plumlee took to Twitter and announced his commitment to the Bulldogs Friday night. His commitment gives Georgia nine pledges for the 2019 class and the first one since the end of April.

Plumlee made his announcement on Friday night that he chose to play baseball and football at the University of Georgia. He had this to say about his pledge to the Bulldogs.

“This has been a journey full of blessings!!,” Plumlee said, on his Twitter. “I want to first thank my awesome God for all of my blessings!! I then would like to thank my family, friends, and coaches for the continuous prayer and support through this whole process. With that being said I would like to announce that I am committed to continue playing football and baseball at the University of Georgia! Go Dawgs!”

He’s a 6-1 185 pounds Hattiesburg, Mississippi native and as a junior passed for 1,888 yards and rushed for 795. Plumlee totaled 31 touchdowns during his junior season too. He came and visited Georgia a few weeks ago for the scavenger hunt head coach Kirby Smart and staff put on for recruits.

Then he came back two weeks ago to throw for the Bulldogs. On the 247Sports ranking system, he ranks as the No. 269 overall prospect, No. 20 ATH, and the No. 12 player in Mississippi.

Plumlee chose the Bulldogs over North Carolina, Auburn, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Nebraska. With his commitment, Georgia moves up to the No. 8 recruiting class in the country on 247Sports.
