Georgia continues its preparation for Austin Peay on Wednesday. The team practiced in the indoor athletic facility in shoulder pads and shorts. Steve Conyers and I give you our observations from Wednesday’s practice.

Savannah’s Offense Report

— Still no Terry Godwin or Jackson Harris out there. Kearis Jackson practiced though.
— Got to really watch the offensive line today and here are the 1’s and 2’s

  • 1’s: LT: Andrew Thomas (71), LG: Kendall Baker (65), C: Lamont Gaillard (53), RG: Ben Cleveland (74), RT: Isaiah Wilson (79)
  • 2’s: LT: Cade Mays (77), LG: Trey Hill (55), C: Sean Fogarty(68), RG: Justin Shaffer (54), RT: Kendall Baker (65

This group looked smooth today and ready for battle.
— The tight ends worked on breaking tackles and catching passes. Isaac Nauta and Charlie Woerner continue to impress me every day. They look strong and in impeccable shape.
— Woerner and Nauta both looked the best during the high, mid, and low drill where they caught high balls, perfect balls, and low balls.

D'Andre Swift (7)

— Finally, I can note that the running backs worked on agility and then some red zone offense. Elijah Holyfield and D’Andre Swift looked like twins from where I was.
— Jake Fromm and Justin Fields looked cool, calm and collected. Fromm looked so good. He threw missiles to each of his wideouts.

Steve’s Defense Report

— I did not see Divaad Wilson out there today.
— Tyson Campbell was getting more love from Kirby. He got tapped on the helmet and got some praise for his efforts at practice. Without a doubt, we’re going to see him play in the opener.
— Tray Bishop was working with the second team. We still don’t know what is to come from his off the field issue if anything at all.

.Dan Lanning and D'Andre Walker (15)
.Dan Lanning and D’Andre Walker (15)
–The top two OLB’s were Deandre Walker and Walter Grant. Those will be your two starters come Saturday.
–Tray Scott was animated today yelling,” Discipline! Discipline!” Devonte Wyatt was getting some attention and I think this is another guy that Kirby is thankful to have retained since leaving his JUCO. He won’t be in the starting rotation but is going to be a nice piece to the puzzle.
— Christoper Smith was working with the 1s at DB today.

— Monty Rice and Juwon Taylor working as the 1s at inside linebackers
