With seven games under their belt and the bye week nearly behind them, we are taking a look at the statistical leaders on the Georgia football team. On Saturday, we looked at the leading passer, rusher, receiver, and offensive lineman on the Bulldog’s offense in Georgia Football’s Offensive Leaders Through 7 Games. Today, we take a look at the leaders on the defensive side of the ball for the Dawgs.

Rice has played in and started all seven games at on the season so far for the Bulldogs at inside linebacker and has chased down opposing ball carriers for 41 total tackles. Rice with fellow linebacker senior Tae Crowder make a tackling dynamo duo in the middle of the Dawgs’ defense.

When you look at the back half of Georgia’s defense, the guy in the secondary that opposing quarterbacks try to avoid on is Eric Stokes, a 6-foot-1 and 185 lbs redshirt sophomore out of Convington, GA. While Stokes hasn’t yet collected an interception, he leads the team in pass breakups with 8. Stokes has started all seven games for the Bulldogs this season, and with 5 games to go in the regular-season schedule, it might just be a matter of time before No. 27 snags a ball that comes his way for an INT.
