Georgia’s defense is playing at a “high level,” Marcus Spears

On Friday afternoon from the University of Tennessee campus on the lawn of Ayer’s Hall, the SEC Nation hosts discussed the Bulldogs’ upcoming game versus the Volunteers and weighed in on how each team has done this season. Co-host Marcus Spears was asked about Georgia’s defense and if it was good enough to win a championship.

“They’ve playing tremendous on defense… That’s a tough question for me to answer. I would have told you Georgia would have beat LSU when they went to Baton Rouge last year. They are playing really well right now, though,” said Spears. “The level at which they are playing at is higher than most teams in the country that I have seen.”

Spears added: “They are right there in the upper echelon of being able to create pressure in the pass and also stop the run; so, right now. They are playing at a high level. I don’t know what a championship level is going to look like by the time we get to seasons end. It always changes. But for right now, they are playing at a high level.”
