Hype the Hedges

Today’s the day Georgia takes on the Auburn Tigers in the 122nd meeting of the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry. Georgia gets its second night game of the season, and what perfect time than against the Tigers. With the ideal scenario, I challenge the Bulldog nation to do these three things.

1: Wear Black

Despite head coach Kirby Smart saying that there wouldn’t be blackout, that doesn’t mean the fans shouldn’t wear it. 11 years ago, Georgia donned the jerseys for the first time. This game instantly became one of my favorite memories as a Georgia fan. I remember seeing the entire stadium as a sea of black instead of red. It was epic.  Georgia fans need to layer up for the cold weather and wear that black. As a fan group, Dawg Nation needs to get together, and all show up in black.

2: Get There Early

Georgia fans know how to show up for games, and this one shouldn’t be any different. The stands need to be full by kickoff.  There is nothing like seeing a full-house when the team comes out of the west end zone. This game is the final regular season SEC game of the season; fans don’t need to miss any second of it. Not to mention, this shows the team just how much Dawg Nation loves them.

3: Put Sanford on the Decibel Meter

There are 92,746 seats in Sanford Stadium, and every single person in that stadium needs to be loud Saturday night. After last year, Georgia needs to show Auburn what an atmosphere looks like D.J. Sir Foster has done a great job this season with the music he plays throughout the game. However, I have one request for Saturday, and that is Soulja Boy’s “Crank Dat.” This song played during the first blackout game against Auburn, and if the crowd is blacking out the Tigers, the song should must play.

Foster has the ability to set the crowd’s tone for this game. The atmosphere needs to be, as the kids say, ‘lit’ and stay ‘lit’ all four quarters. Put Sanford Stadium on the decibel meter and make it impossible for Jarrett Stidham to communicate with his team. Be loud Georgia fans; the team needs you as the 12th man.
