Solomon Kindley has been an anchor at the guard position on the Georgia offensive line the past two season. Now, as he enters his junior year, Kindley took some time after Thursday’s practice to talk about that Bulldog offensive line, the upcoming season opener versus Vanderbilt, nutrition, and more.

The team has been practicing for over three weeks; how ready are you to see somebody else?

“I’m so ready to hit another opponent. But like Coach (Kirby) Smart says, iron sharpens iron; so, we’ve been working at each other,” said Kindley. “That’s going to make us the best against anybody; so, we play the best team every day. That’s how I feel and that’s how my teammates fell.”

On the chemistry of the offensive line…

“That’s the number one thing that Coach [Sam] Pittman, and not only Coach Pittman but the team, is trying to do. If we have a good offensive line, we can beat anybody in the world,” said Solomon Kindley. “Our chemistry is coming along very, very solid, not just on the football field. We’re a brotherhood. We commit to looking out for each other on the field and off the field so that’s going to tie into the field so we can be the best that we can be.”

What do you think of opening the season against Vanderbilt and what about the Commodores’ defense?

“Vanderbilt is one of the SEC teams that’s very slept on. They’re very fast, very smart, they try and scheme you in different ways where they can come in from a cat blitz or a marker blitz or stuff like that,” said Kindley. “We’ve got to pay attention to those type of things”. … “Vanderbilt will try and out-power you and be smarter than you.”

The University of Georgia will open its season and SEC Eastern Division play on the road versus Vanderbilt Commodores in Nashville, TN a week from tomorrow. Solomon Kindley and his cohorts on the offensive line will be a big key in not only that game, but for the Bulldogs’ season.
